Bid now through Thursday, June 12th at alderferauction.com. This auction will begin closing at 8 PM at a rate of 5 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close.

 

Glass and pottery including both decorative and functional wares. Representative lots include a Galle-style cameo art glass vase with a floral motif, a group of milk glass and cut glass lidded jars, and a stained glass arched window. The offering also features a range of tableware and ceramic sets such as Lenox bone china, as well as Williamsburg Wedgwood Potpourri pattern dinnerware, Fiesta Ware, turquoise Pyrex bowls, and various stoneware jars and crocks, some attributed to named potters.

 

 

There is a wide selection of books and ephemera including vintage postcards, children’s literature, photograph albums, and instructional manuals. Highlights include Victorian photo albums with embossed covers, antique travel postcards from the 1939 and 1964–65 New York World’s Fairs, and a collection of vintage Philadelphia postcards. Book lots span from early 20th-century military manuals to classic literature, such as a 1933 edition of The Murders in the Rue Morgue by Edgar Allan Poe and a 1957 copy of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. There are also multiple lots of Little Golden Books, Brownie Scout handbooks, and ephemera assortments with greeting cards, decals, and pamphlets.

 

Metalware includes a Heintz sterling-on-bronze vase, various brass and copper kitchen items like kettles and candlesticks, and flatware sets that include both sterling and silverplate examples. A Tiffany & Co. sterling engraved cup is also offered. Decorative items include brass swan figures, enamel advertising signs, cast iron pulleys, and a Byzantine bronze duck lamp. Additionally, there are themed commemorative groupings, such as British royal family mugs and plates, Franklin Mint coin sets, and America in Space bronze medals.

 

Other items in the sale include dollhouse furniture, surveyor tools, stereo receivers, advertising signage, and vintage cameras, all contributing to a broad offering of collectible and decorative material.
