We desperately needed help organizing and emptying our 1800+ square foot house because we are moving to Florida. Tara and her staff were extremely professional and efficient in helping us. We had so many people come through and find things they were interested in. We were able to achieve our goal of making the most money we could while getting rid of a large amount of stuff. We cant thank them enough!!!!

furnished with some fine furnishings, lamps, collectibles, and antiques. Tara came to the house a couple
of times prior to the sale, tagged everything, and fully researched items that she felt were of significant value. She did the research via the internet, and various other contacts she has in the business. Tara
took pictures of all the items to place on the Estate Sale site, and even had some of her exis!ng clients
interested in some of the items prior to the weekend sale. I left Tara in the house both days of the sale,
and she let me know each day how the performance was, and what the proceeds were. The sale was
very successful. I found Tara to be very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and fair.

“To whom it may concern:
Tara is a wonderful woman and hard worker. My mother in law passed away. She was an EXTREME hoarder. I hired an estate sale company to come to my home and prepare and hold a sale. It did not work out. I fired them 3 days before our sale date. I decided to go ahead and have a garage sale myself that weekend. Tara and Maryann came to my sale. Tara overheard me speaking to someone about my plight and immediately offered to come and take over the following day. I was a little skeptical at first but I ended up allowing it. Tara came on time and started organizing things for the sale that day. She continued to organize what she could throughout the day. She went far above and beyond. After my garage sale ended we hired Tara to come in and hold an estate sale for us. Tara immediately started taking pictures and posting the sale on line. Getting people excited. Every day prior to the sale Tara was at my home working harder than anyone I know from as early as I would allow until as late as I would allow. She was very polite and made sure with me many times throughout that she was not imposing. After our first sale ended I was pleasantly surprised at the success of the sale. Tara continued to come to my house to clean up until I was satisfied. We decided to hold a second sale with Tara. Again, she worked tirelessly. It no longer felt like she was hired help. She made it feel as though I had hired an old trusted friend. At the time it truly made the situation much easier to deal with. I did not have to worry about anyone she brought to my home to help her. I trusted her fully with all our belongings. Tara truly brought joy to an otherwise sad situation. She made my life much easier. If you have the opportunity to hire Tara for an estate sale I can say with complete confidence that you will be pleased with her work ethic as well as her respect for your belongings.

Working with Tara was great! I had never experienced an Estate Sale, but when we recently moved my Dad into an assisted living facility it was necessary to sell the assets of the home my parents lived in their entire lives. 70 years’ worth of collectibles, antiques, and just lots of stuff – it was overwhelming, but meeting with Tara put my mind at ease. She is passionate about collectible treasures and was so respectful and knowledgeable of my parent’s belongings. It was a pleasure talking to her about the process of planning and conducting the sale. She and her Team at Attic to the Basement did exactly what they said – they planned, researched, organized and priced everything, marketed the sale effectively, and conducted a tremendously successful sale. It was fun to get excited texts and emails from Tara as she researched individual items and shared their background and value. She also agreed to provide clean out services and within one week of the sale the house was empty and clean. We understand this is a highly stressful time for you and your family and our commitment to you is to take all of the worry off your hands. We are with you from start to finish no matter how long it takes. We are prepared to help you with every situation no matter how big or small; and our staff has seen it all from hoarding to homes that have been locked up for years.
Each member of our staff has many years of experience working in antique shops and brings their own expertise to the sale. Our staff has expert knowledge with vintage jewelry, depression glass, high end furniture, and military items. You can rest assured our staff will work hard to help ensure a lucrative and professional sale. We also work closely with the most respected experts in the business. Anything we are not 100 percent familiar with our experts are ready to help us price including: stamps, coins, sports memorabilia, gold/silver jewelry and mid-century modern furniture.
Proper advertising is essential to the success of your sale. Attic to the Basement Estate Sales has one of the largest marketing networks to ensure we reach perspective customers all over the tri state area. Depending upon the size of your sale and its collectible contents we can also provide advertising throughout the United States. (Note: not all sales will be advertised outside the tri state area.)
To get started we ask that you do not throw anything away including all clothing. You will be amazed at what sells at an estate sale. Please go through belongings and make a "keep" and "sell" list. Family members who want items should take them away as soon as possible. All furnishings and larger items to be kept will be marked prominently as "NFS" or "not for sale." Smaller items should be kept in a safe room that will be securely closed to the public.
During the in person consult we will discuss your needs, time frame, and tour the home or estate. We will take photographs to help with advertising. We also discuss pricing and how we will make this a very positive experience for you. (Note: each sale is different and for this reason we do not quote a percentage over the phone without seeing the home first.) Once the contract is signed and a date is chosen we will prepare to stage the sale. Please keep in mind all sales and set ups are different and most set ups take 2-3 days. We are happy to help unpack items that have been tucked away for many years including attics and basements. Once staging is complete we will begin pricing items for sale. (Please rest assured that anything large in value will be discussed with the owner.) The sale itself usually runs 2-3 days on the weekends.
